As we are almost at the unofficial start of summer, everything starts to lighten up, including manicures.

The no-makeup makeup look is very popular right now, and if you are looking for something similar for your nails, you might want to consider a nail concealer.

Nail concealer is a sheer, tinted polish that is formulated to conceal nail imperfections like discoloration and ridges, while strengthening the natural nail. It is a great choice if your nails are recovering from acrylics or gels.

The polish shades are usually soft sheer pinks and milky whites. They tend to be priced a bit higher than some regular polishes, and range in the $15-$20 price range.

I’m personally a big fan of nail concealer polishes, as I tend to lean toward sheer neutral polishes most of the time anyway.

I originally tried the Dermelect Makeover, which has a bit of a shimmer to it, and is a great neutral polish.

Recently I started using the Londontown Concealer, which is VERY popular.

I’ve been using this for several weeks now and I really like it. This particular concealer comes in Pink, Bare, and Bubble shades. I’ve been using the pink shade and it is a lovely color and lasts about a week for me.

The instructions say you don’t need a base or top coat, but I put a top coat on in subsequent applications after the first because the shine dulled a little for me after a few days.

The Londontown polish is vegan and gluten-free, as well as cruelty-free. The great thing about nail concealer polishes is that they not only conceal imperfections, but they also address damage to the nails, if that is an issue. The formulas are designed to treat and protect nail damage, which is what makes them such a great choice if you are taking a break from gels or acrylics.

There are several popular brands of nail concealers, like the ones I have mentioned. Another is the Probelle Illuminating Nail Concealer, which is available in shades of Lilac Glow, Moonlight Glow, and Peach Pearl.

I have not tried this particular brand yet, but it gets rave reviews.

So if you are looking for a spring-into-summer manicure change, or are wanting to try out a product that is not only lovely to use but also good for your nails, you might want to give one of these nail concealers a try.

If you do or if you already use them, I’d love to hear about your experience.

And I’d love for you to follow me on Pinterest!
