Summer still rages on, with triple-digit temperatures here in Texas for what seems like three months now. 🙁 But fall will eventually be here and it’s time to start thinking about transitioning wardrobes.
Slingback pumps are a classic and elegant style of shoe that dates back to the 1940s when they were introduced on pinup models.
The Chanel beige and black Slingback pump is classic and very popular. But. It costs $1,000. I love a beautiful shoe but I don’t love it enough to spend $1,000 on it. 🙂
So I was very happy when I found a really good dupe on Amazon!
Pretty close, right? The only difference is there is no logo on the pair from Amazon like there is on the heel of the Chanel pair. Oh, and the price. It varies from time to time, but I promise you it is a fraction of the price of designer heels. 🙂
I purchased these shoes this summer and I really like them. The quality is good and they are comfortable. I don’t have a Chanel pair to compare them with, of course, but the pair I received is very nice.
The grosgrain on the toe is a nice touch and allows you to wear these shoes with many different colored outfits. They can be worn with dresses, white pants, jeans, skirts, everything.
A certain attention-craving Duchess-by-marriage was seen wearing a lower-heeled version last week paired with white jeans, and inexplicably, a sweater, scarf, and camel coat. Great look, just a few months too early. 🙂
They run true to size and have a 2.5″ heel.
If you don’t quite like this particular combination, there are other styles available, as well. There is the same color combo, only the tan portion is quilted and the toe box is patent leather.
There are also new boucle knit versions.
I don’t wear much red, but if I did, I would definitely be getting these:
I just think these shoes are very chic and help pull an outfit together. And unless someone tackles you to see if these are Chanel, you can get the look at a fraction of the price of the designer versions without anyone knowing the difference.
(I do know a couple of people like this who are heat-seeking missiles when it comes to designer labels and jewelry who absolutely would tackle me to check the brand. One of them is a guy!) But most people won’t do this. 🙂
So if you are thinking about your fall wardrobe, I encourage you to give these slingback pumps a try!
And I’d love for you to follow me on Pinterest!
