We’ve all heard of Spring Cleaning. Although I understand the importance of cleaning, I don’t like doing it, and I certainly don’t like devoting a large chunk of time to it in the spring.
Just as I have shared seasonal planners with you this year, breaking up the year into four seasons, I think cleaning can work that way, too. That way, nothing gets too out of hand, necessitating a huge undertaking once a year.
So, how about a 30-Day Autumn Cleaning Checklist? This doesn’t replace weekly cleaning tasks, but it’s just one thing per day you can do over the next month. And guess what that means? Our homes will be clean and shiny just in time for the holiday season!

When I took on my decluttering project last summer, I found it helped me to keep my momentum if I gave myself some quick wins each day. Just one drawer. Or one cabinet. Small accomplishments that added up.
It can work the same way with cleaning. I have been experimenting with my system for the past couple of months. Instead of cleaning all in one day, which I hate, I’ve been trying to do a little bit each day.
While I don’t love the idea of cleaning every single day, it does make it easier both physically and mentally to know I only need to focus on cleaning for 30 minutes to an hour each day rather than a full day devoted to it.
So with this checklist, you can take on tasks one at a time. Some on the list are smaller, like vacuuming all of your carpets and rugs. Or dusting your bookshelves. Or wiping down your light switches.
Others are bigger projects, like cleaning out your pantry or organizing your wardrobe for the season.
But taking on one thing at a time can keep us from getting overwhelmed.
There is one checklist, in two fall-themed options:

A page for creating your own To-Do Lists:

And a page for notes.
